La Fina is GRASCO’s trademark to identify margarine, any use as a reference is an infringement.
The Superintendence of Industry and Commerce stated so, in the Decision of July 26, 2017 by recognizing the infringement of GRASCO’s trademark LA FINA by GRASEL due to the use of GRASCO’s trademark LA FINA in conjunction with its trademark LA NUEVA, to identify margarines.
The Superintendence of Industry and Commerce considered that, the reproduction of the trademark LA FINA generated association risk, and in consequence it ordered the protection of the trademark LA FINA, by instructing GRASEL to remove the infringing expression and condemning GRASEL to compensate for the damages caused.
A victory for the most famous margarine’s trademark of the country, always remember for its sound trademark that all of us Colombians have sang at least once in a life time.
