Virtual transfers in consumer protection actions

The Superintendency of Industry and Commerce, in compliance with the provisions of Law 2213 of 2022, has implemented new rules aimed at streamlining judicial proceedings in consumer protection actions.

One of the main changes is that the transfer will be considered automatically completed two business days after the message is sent, without the need for intervention by the secretariat, except in exceptional cases provided for by the regulations.

This measure seeks to simplify and speed up procedural formalities, ensuring greater efficiency in the administration of justice and a faster response to claims related to consumer rights.

It is essential that both consumers and suppliers are aware of and adapt their procedures to these new provisions in order to take advantage of the benefits offered by digitization in the judicial sphere.
