This was confirmed by the Colombian Trademark Office while definitely denying the registration of the trademark SOLARY JR ULTRA REY + GRAPHIC in International Class 3 after an opposition had been filed by our client DETERGENTES LTDA., using as a legal base the well know character of the trademark REY; and an appeal filed by the applicant.
According to the referenced decision, the trademark application SOLARY JR ULTRA REY + GRAPHIC must be denied not only because it has considerable grammatical and phonetical similarities with our client’s trademark REY which may cause confusion among consumers, but also, because it could imply an unfair advantage of the reputation our client has built for the trademark REY.
